Brian Gaffney: School of Hard Knucks

Brian Gaffney comes to Tecolote Book Shop in Montecito to talk about his new book, School of Hard Knucks: My Three Sons and Baseball's Wildest Pitch. The book follows one of his sons, a local student with an unusual gift for the knuckleball, the almost spinless pitch famous for its unpredictable flight and for being so hard to master.

Gaffney will talk about how that rare skill, along with family life and discipline, shaped the story. A Q&A and book signing follow the talk, and copies of the book will be for sale at the shop.
